Stonefly Lounge was born on June 1, 2009 in Coram, Montana, but the building has nearly eighty years of history in the bar business. The original tavern opened in 1944 as Angell's Tavern during the old dam-building days at the Hungry Horse Dam. Before we opened our doors as "the Stonefly", the bar was known as Stoner's Inn since the mid1960's, named for one of many owners, Lila Stoner. In 2009, four friends in the form of two couples figured out how to buy the place, and after a 25 day renovation got the doors open so they could pay the mortgage. The years since have seen an ever growing and beautifully maturing year-round locals bar that ramps up to serve visitors and dish up delicious bar food and free live music during the beautiful Glacier National Park summers.Looking for a fast and delicious lunch, dinner, late night food, or nightlife near Glacier National Park and the Flathead Valley? Our savory bar bakery opens at noon daily, offering a freshly baked, scratch-made savory pie menu and other delectable savory snacks. The Stonefly is also a well-known live music venue, with regular free live music and entertainment. a fine selection of liquors and cocktails, a Montana and regional micro-brew beer selection, great pizza and bar food, and fuzzy memories nightly.
Stonefly Lounge boasts a beautiful indoor music venue as well as an outdoor tented stage. The Stonefly Lounge is the premier Northwest Montana live music must-stop location for bands traveling through the Montana, Idaho, Seattle and Oregon region. With vaulted ceiling covered in sound board, beautiful show stage, bar, revolving art shows and great lighting for the room and stage, the Stonefly has been one of the Flathead Valley’s best venues for over a decade.
